We took a 3 day vacation this past weekend to see Thomas the Train in Connersville Indiana. Ean has been a big train buff since he was very little. Ean would watch the trains just cruise by Aunt Mary’s house for a couple of years now. (The Great Train Experience)As part of the mini-vacation, we went to the Indianapolis zoo on Friday, hoping that the weather would hold out. Fortunately, the weather was ok for us and we got to make it through the zoo ok. We enjoyed the Dolphin show, the new Ocean exhibit (with polar bears, penguins, and shark petting), as well as many of the other animals.
We also walked around the White River garden and butterfly exhibit and looked at some of the many types of butterflies and plants.
We then headed over to Rushville to spend the night in a hotel before heading over to Connersville in the morning. We rode on the train for a 30 minute ride and explored the various functions they had at the event.
Over all, both of the kids did great a job on the trip and the mini-vacation was enjoyed by all. To see more pictures from teh vacation head over to the Day Out with Thomas Pictures.

Ean’s Big Catch
We were down at Rick's house after work today because Ean has been wanting to go fishing.
Rick took Ean down to his pond with a kids fishing poll. Ean caught a little blue gill and started to reel it in when a bass jumped at the blue gill and Rick had to help reel in the bass. The 2nd picture is the two fish on the floor.

On father’s day, we were out driving around and Ean asked a question from his car seat. He said, “When is Little Boy’s day?” He was at the point of tears as he asked the question. He further explained that we had a Mommy’s and Daddy’s day, but not a little boy’s day. So, we told him that we would have a “Kid’s Day” in a couple of weeks, where he and Ella would decide what we would do – well today was the day.
The plan was that we were going to have a Picnic at the Fort Wayne Zoo and then spend a few hours checking out the animals.
After we ate our lunch, we all headed into the Zoo. Ean got to ride a pony and saw several animals including snakes, lizards, fish, sharks, wallabies, and many other. One of the highlights of the zoo is in the Australian section where they have a small version of the Great Barrier Reef and Ella was absolutely mesmerized by the fish. She stared at them swimming for several minutes.
The last thing that we did before leaving the zoo was feed the fish.
As we were feeding the fish, the skies opened up and the rain started pouring down. So we cut our zoo trip short and headed over to Ean’s favorite store to finish out the day.
I think the Kid’s day worked like it was supposed to as it wore out both of the kids as well as the parents.

Remember when Ean was this little?
This was from 2006. This pictures reminds us alot of how Ella looks now.
Ean loves Wall-E
Wall-E
At the Whitney's and Leah's graduation party, Lisa pulled out some of her paints and began making temporary tattoos.
Ean was a bit hestitant at first, but he finally gave in and requested a Wall-E tattoo. If you haven't seen the commercial yet, Wall-E is the next animated Pixar movie due out on June 27.
