Eleven years ago today, April, myself, a park ranger, a minister, my father and my step-mother stood in Washington Oaks Garden State during a light rain drizzle that invited all of the mosquitoes to join us in our brief ceremony. I remember bits & pieces of that afternoon but I especially remember April smacking the mosquito that landed on my forehead in the middle of wedding ceremony. I knew in that moment that she was mine and would be the perfect wife & mother for our children to come.
Together we have travelled in the adventures of parenthood, health & financial woes, and we have grown stronger as a team for it in the end. We share common values, goals and beliefs, we respect each other, and have a desire to see each other succeed in all of our endeavors.
I wouldn't ask for anyone other than her to join me in this journey of life.
Happy anniversary, April.
