Ella gets her ears pierced

I feel like I never post anything about Ella even though she has been growing like a weed. So for the last couple of weeks, Ella has been asking for earrings and has been consistently asking so we decided to honor her request.

We’ve always discussed waiting to get her ears pierced until she wanted them done. So we waiting to see if it wasn’t just as passing fad. Well, she decided that it wasn’t a fad and she was ready to get her Hello Kitty earrings.

Here is a picture as they were marking her ears:

Here is the video of Carrie marking her ears:

Here is a shaky video of her actual ear punctures. Look at her smiles as she was so excited to get her ear’s done. Warning there is a bit of crying and the emotional and sensitive may join in with the tears as well.

Before you call us mean parents, she only cried for a moment and then she saw her ears in mirror and she loved how they looked. Here she is a minute after her ears gotĀ piercedĀ (check out her red ear lobe).

Update (week and half later):

The healing process continues with no issues. She still loves them and I can catch her looking at herself in the mirror as well as spinning her earrings unconsciously as she watches tv or looks at a book. Therefore, it looks like she was ready and we are glad that we went ahead and did it. By the way, looking for gift ideas? Earrings for Ella.

The Kids of Neverland

Back in March, the Fort Wayne Botanical Gardens had an exhibit for Peter Pan and the Lost Boys. The four of us, as well as grandparents Sablics, headed out to the second star on the right and traveled straight until morning. It was the first time that any of us had been to the Gardens in quite some time so we looked forward to see what else they offered. The pirate ship and the remaining of the main room gave the kids a chance to run around, use their imagination and enjoy themselves. I was impressed with the Pirate ship and some of the props, but I was really hoping to see some “actors” dressed up and interact with the kids.

The kids had fun though and in the end that is all that matters.

Ella and her tea party

Since day one of owning an iPad, the kids have taken custody of it. Ella, in particular, as Ean has his DS that he gets some playtime on. This is by far one of the coolest apps that I have bought so far – Toca Tea Party let’s you set the place for three people and the tea party members can enjoy tea, coffee, or juice and have a variety of cookies or cakes.

I’d highly recommend that app to any princess or tea party host.

Ella’s 3rd Birthday Pictures

We’d like to thank everyone that showed up today to help us celebrate Ella’s birthday. It was great turn out and it was great having family and friends show up from near and far.

Here are some pictures of the birthday girl:

Singing Ella Happy Birthday!

Even though yesterday was Ella’s actual birthday, we had her party today because of work schedules. Ean actually recorded this video as I was using the other camera. I think he did pretty good for an early attempt.

Anyways, it was so cute that Ella busted out singing Happy Birthday and did most of the singing.

Ella with Santa Claus

After six years of having kids that absolutely hate being close to someone dressed up in costume, today was a total surprise for us. We were walking through the Food Court at Jefferson Pointe and passed by Santa Claus and his cottage. Ella ran directly up to him, bouncing the entire time and calling out “Santa Claus!!! Santa Claus!!”

We were so stunned as she jibber jabbered to Santa and he gave her a small candy cane. She was absolutely beaming, so we asked if she wanted to sit on his lap and get her picture taken with him. She ran back up to him hopping up and down until he put her on his lap. This shot was taken nearly after that and there was no prodding or begging to get her to smile.

Oh how Ella surprises me almost daily and I loved to watch the pure joy in her eyes as she ran around Santa Claus, his chair and checked out his tree with all of the presents everywerhe.

Ean’s Party from Ella’s point of view

Ella helped us out at Ean’s party on Saturday by helping to record things from her point of view. It is a bit wobbly and there are many fingers in the way, but it is fun to watch.

Happy Halloween from the 4 McIntosh Apples

We wanted to wish you happy and safe Halloween.

We actually did our visiting and trick or treating on Friday and Saturday night. Since we are trying to keep the kids on a schedule, we wanted to stay home after 8.

Happy Day

Here is a short video that April recorded a few weeks ago of Ella and Ean at Grandma’s House:

Ella doesn’t sing “Happy Birthday” she always sings “Happy Day!”

We can’t wait until Ean’s birthday to see what she does then.
